The Sheila Markendale Sportsmanship Award
The Sheila Markendale Sportsmanship Award is presented annually to an athlete who has represented Lancashire Schools at an English Schools National Event. The award recognises an athlete who has demonstrated the true spirit of sportsmanship on numerous occasions and is awarded in memory of Sheila Markendale. Sheila was a member of Lancashire Schools Athletic Association who sadly passed away in 2016. She embraced athletics to the full and is truly missed by members of the committee and athletes who have represented Lancashire Schools.
