ENGLISH SCHOOLS’ TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP REPORT
ALEXANDER STADIUM, BIRMINGHAM
FRIDAY 30th JUNE & SATURDAY 1st JULY 2023
The 92nd English Schools’ Track & Field Championships returned to Birmingham this year after a 4-year hiatus. Athletes representing Lancashire competed in all age categories (Junior, Inter and Senior) against athletes from all over the country, over two days.
The weather was cool with a slight breeze on the Saturday with slightly warmer temperatures on the Sunday and an increased wind. Not quite what you would expect at the time of year!
The team of 34 athletes competed strongly over both days with 25 track athletes and 9 field athletes.
A total of 5 medals were won by Team Lancashire athletes at the Championships (2 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze). 5 of the Track athletes who had heats for their events qualified for the finals on the Saturday.
